Class Descriptions: Whole Birth Prenatal Yoga is a wonderful way to exercise, connect with yourself and your baby, and prepare for the journey of birth and motherhood. Our classes are taught in the style of Whole Birth™Yoga, developed by Robin Sale based in part on the mindfulness technique of Jon Kabat-Zinn. A typical class consists of 45 minutes to one hour of sharing and discussion with a different theme each week, 45 minutes to one hour of yoga, and a 10-minute deep relaxation. This format allows you to build deep relationships with other mothers-to-be, nurture yourself through your pregnancy, and identify and plan for what is important to you in your birth experience. Many mothers express that yoga was the single most effective way of preparing for birth. Drop-in Prenatal Yoga is a great option for those who are unable to commit to a regular schedule or who would like to practice more than once per week. Although shorter class time prohibits discussion, there is time for a brief check-in and questions before we begin our yoga practice. |

Support continues in the post-partum period with Mom & Baby Yoga. Class includes yoga and movement to aid recovery from pregnancy and birth, discussion and community building to ease the transition into motherhood, and a fun opportunity to connect with your baby. Babies are always honored in this class, even when they are crying, need to be changed or fed. Moms never need to leave the circle to meet their babies' needs. If you are struggling with a fussy baby, you will find comfort and support here. |

If you are simply looking for a great yoga class, but are not in
the throes of the childbearing year, Mindful Mama offers Adults' Mixed Level Yoga. In this late afternoon hatha yoga class,
we will come together to feed the soul through meditation, vigorous asana practice, and a gentle restorative pose to
finish your day powerfully and peacefully. Appropriate for beginners, as well as those with a long-time yoga practice.
Girls Yoga is a beginner’s level class for girls ages 9 to 14 to build strength, flexibility, and confidence in a fun and nurturing environment. Inspired by Whole Birth Yoga, there will be time for a check-in as a way to foster community among participants and create a safe and open-hearted space to explore the art of yoga. Youth Yoga for ages 8 and up, is a chance for kids to “play” with yoga. Together we explore many elements of yoga, including poses, chants, and even meditation in a fun and lighthearted way. Parents are not required to attend, but are welcome to stay and join in the fun, too. |
